Admitted as European Patent Attorney in 1988 and to the bar of German Patent Attorneys in 1987.
Dr. Franck’s practice focuses on counseling, oppositions, nullity actions, litigation and prosecution in the area of chemical and pharmaceutical patents. He has represented a number of clients from the chemical, pharmaceutical and mineral oil industries, including several US Fortune 500 companies. Dr. Franck has special expertise in handling the German and EPO parts of pan-European patent disputes in cooperation with colleagues from other European states, and of transatlantic patent disputes as a member of multinational patent litigation teams.
Dr. Franck graduated with a diploma in chemistry from the Swiss Institute of Technology in Zürich (ETH Zürich) and holds a doctor’s degree in technical science from ETH Zürich. He received his training as a German and European patent attorney at Uexküll & Stolberg in Hamburg, at the German Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Patent Court in Munich, in an industry patent department in Oxfordshire, England, and in a patent law firm in Paris, France. Dr. Franck has been a partner at Uexküll & Stolberg since 1987.
